December 16, 1925 "Colored Notes" in the Portsmouth Star "Truxtun Teachers" Washington, D.C.--One hundred per cent of the teachers of the Truxtun school of Portsmouth are enrolled in the National Education Association, according to report received by J.W. Crabtree, secretary of the Association, from rpincipals, W.H. Willis. In a letter to Mr. Willis, acknowledging the report, Mr. Crabtree says: "We are proud of your one hundred per cent membership in the National Education Association. It means that your teachers realize the necessity of solidifying the profession. You and your associates are to be congratulated on this record. You will soon receive the certificate granted by the Executive Committee." The National Education Association was organized in 1857. Through its efforts the United States Bureau. |
