Description:  This map shows the original layout of Truxton as designed by the United States Housing Corporation in 1918.  Centered at the intersection of Deep Creek Road and Key Road (now known as Portsmouth Blvd), the original plan allowed for 253 housing units, a YMCA building, a movie theatre, a school building, stores, and a church.  Only 250 houses were actually built.  The YMCA building and the theatre were never built.
